There are a lot of things to like about this knee brace!
There are a lot of things to like about this knee brace!Hi there! I’m the knee brace queen! okay, so… maybe not. I’m sure there are people out there with bigger problems than me but…I am have auto immune health issues. The past couple of years have been really bad for my joints. I wear on average 4 support braces a day. One for my ankle, a SI belt for my back and hips, and two knee braces. Ive been going through a significant amount of braces since i wear them out after 3-6 months.i will now begin listing the pros of this brace:All black one color, and no silly contrasting trim. I wear a lot of black pants to work. I don’t like getting a lot of questions about my knee braces, because it is exhausting to constantly try to explain my health issues to curious coworkers, i want my brace to blend in and be less noticeable, even if I’m wearing it over my pants.The straps pull from two points each. This makes the tightening more evenly distributed across the brace, for a smoother, cleaner fit, and less gap around the knee wear you need the more support.The entire brace is covered in that soft Velcro felt texture so it is easy to tack your straps any wear you need to. (better fit again).the v shapes straps are designed to be looped through one another, which i feel is another enhancement to placement and fit.CONS:maybe I’m just not used to having this sort of fit but the brace being tight behind the knee is a little uncomfy. Not badly. I feel like i need to get used to this different feel and maybe wear the brace a little looser. I’ve only used the brace once which was today and i feel like i need to figure it out more? I also put a sleeve underneath the brace which basically fixes the problem. It should be fine over pants too. I just prefer to wear my braces wonder my pants when i can to avoid people asking about them. (plus i don’t like it when they detract detract my cute outfits.)i kinda wish the hard velcro side had more surface contact. Velcro wears out. and larger surface contact area can make the brace more long lasting because it can still hold on when the velcro starts to give.anyway. more good than bad i say.

I had a total knee replacement a few years ago and since then, that knee’s been stiff and uncomfortable at best, downright painful at worst (and yes, I regret having had the TKR, but I can’t go back now). I’ve tried many different remedies and all of them help somewhat, although none are panaceas. One of the things I do when my knee starts getting too painful is to use a brace, which seems to make it feel a bit better. Although I already had a neoprene knee brace that works pretty well, I thought I would try this one to see if it was better, since it had slightly different features than my existing brace. I will explain up-front that I am taking off one star from my rating just for price, since the regular (undiscounted) price of $24.99 is a bit steep. However, at least currently, there is a coupon price of $14.99, which I think is a great deal, since other than price, this is a really great product. First, I like the “hook and loop” (aka Velcro) fasteners. My other knee brace has to be pulled up over my calf, which I think probably ruins the elasticity over time. This brace has two wide straps so it really holds the brace in place well. The open patella is a strongly preferred feature in knee braces and my favorite thing about this brace is the extremely thick gel pads around the knee. I can’t speak to how comfortable the brace would be for use during strenuous activities, since I’m only using it around the house or when I sleep at night, but it’s comfortable for those purposes. The only thing I don’t like about it, which is entirely my own fault for not paying enough attention and reading the website carefully enough, is that it’s a bit small for me. I usually order XL for everything and since I was in a rush when I ordered this, I was on auto-pilot. As it turns out, I really should have ordered XXL. So that’s unfortunate, but the seller has a very clear sizing chart if you scroll far enough down the page to see it. Note that the seller recommends sizing up if your measurements are at the top of the size range. So assuming you buy the right size and that you can get this product at a good price, I think it’s a great option.

Unexpected relief after knee replacement surgery
A few weeks ago I had total knee replacement surgery on one knee. I got this brace to wear on my other knee once that knee healed and I was able to hike and climb stairs. I had a serious setback to healing from doing too much too soon (lots of exercises prescribed by physical therapist including 4 sets of 10 squats daily from day 8 after surgery – don’t do that). It’s gotten to the point I can’t stand the touch of the wrapped ice pad on my skin, and couldn’t sleep last night as just the touch of a sheet on the knee was terribly painful.I thought of this knee brace. Nobody involved with the surgery or recovery had said anything about a brace, but I thought it might at least help block sheets and things from irritating the sore skin, so I put it on. I especially like that it’s a flat piece that you wrap around the knee, rather than one you have to pull up over the knee. The four straps make it super adustable, and the gel ring at the patela is a good bumper and kept the sheet from brushing against the skin where the brace was open. There was no more pain from anything grazing the skin in the area of the brace and I was finally able to sleep.The real suprise to me was when I woke up and removed the brace the swelling; which hadn’t gotten any better in nearly four weeks; was drastically reduced and walking was much more comfortable than it was yesterday. I hadn’t expected these results at all.This brace is light weight, well made, comforatble to wear, easily adjustable with the four big hook and loop V-shaped straps, and more effective than I’d expected in relieving pain and swelling. I wish I’d thought to use it sooner. Highly recommended.
