Unbeatable Value for Convenient Strength Training
Comfortable to hold for cheap. These are not too heavy for the beginner, and they don’t take up too much space. They provide a satisfying workout for my relative beginner self, but my arms stung a little. That’s just part of the game. As for… the smell… it’s metal. Who cares?

Good price, low quality, packaged well
Cons – Quality control at Cap is definitely lacking. I bought 2 dumbbells, one came in decent condition but the other one was not as good. I had to file down sharp burrs at the welds that I could feel even through my gloves. The knurling was almost nonexistent. Both have already have chipped paint but no holes and they have a strong paint smell that I’m sure will dissipate.Pros – The dumbbells seem balanced and the heads secure. They look decent and match my existing set I bought about 15 years ago. They were packaged very well with styrofoam molds on the heads and in a sturdy box. The two boxes were then placed in a larger box. I paid a $1.00 a pound on sale, much less than the $1.50 I’ve paid at the cheapest chain sports stores.Conclusion – Per doctor’s orders, I’m lifting to keep muscle mass, not compete in power lifting or body building. They’re not Rogues, but they’re more than sufficient for my purpose. I rolled the dice and got a decent pair at a very good price so I recommend them for anyone with the same goals I have.

Not cheap, but no awful rubber smell, they don’t roll, are clearly marked with the weight and are comfortable for me to hold. I would get this brand again when I get a different weight.

I wish I could give 0 stars. 0 starts to cap for the quality of these dumbbells. 0 stars to amazon for the packaging. 0 stars to UPS for delivery.I bought a pair of the 65 lbs cast iron dumbbells. These were shipped and sold by Amazon.This was not even remotely worth the small savings over the rubber headed dumbbells I have bought many times through amazon.To begin, they ship these in a cardboard box and that is pretty much it. Only one dumbbell arrived on time. The box was absolutely shredded from trying to contain 65 lbs of iron. In fact, the dumbbell was falling out of the box when it arrived. The UPS man also just dumped this at the top of the driveway. This dumbbell has also defective. One of the welds was poorly done and visibly defective. I could feel the dumbbell head wobbling when pressed over head. That’s scary for a 65 lbs dumbbell. The handle itself also was poorly finished.The second dumbbell arrived a week late. Its box was also destroyed and you could tell UPS had to add extra packing tape just to hold the box together. This was also dumped in the grass at the top of my driveway. It was even worse than the first dumbbell. The dumbbell head was extremely loose from the handle. I don’t know if this is a defect or damaged in shipping. I guess it is probably both.I also received a replacement from Amazon for dumbbell #1. This time it didn’t even arrive with a a box. There was literally just a shipping label zip tied to the dumbbell. The sad little cardboard box they ship these big dumbbells in must have been obliterated in transit. The dumbbell looks like it was dragged across concrete. Paint was chipped and peeling off. One corner looked ground down. The welds actually looked good on this one but there was too much physical damage from shipping.I am returning them all.Maybe these cast iron dumbbells would be a good option for lighter weights or if Amazon even remotely cared about packaging. I would never again consider trying to buy the heavier weights of these cast iron dumbbells. I didn’t even get one functional/undamaged dumbbell from the three they sent. I recommend you the rubber coated dumbbells with the chrome handles. I have never had an issue with those.

En general se ven bien, aunque claramente son más rústicas que otras. Uno de los extremos parece tener un poco de juego, aunque es mínimo, se alcanza a percibir al colocarla en el piso, no creo que haya mayor problema, pero nunca lo he visto en las otras mancuernas con caucho que tengo, tienen unos pocos detalles estéticos menores, por ejemplo en el recubrimiento, el mango no tiene defectos que puedan lastimar, está bien, aunque no tiene la calidad de las otras mancuernas que mencioné. El empacado excelente, muy cuidado. Si como en mi caso las encuentras a un precio considerablemente menor a otras más elaboradas, si son una opción.

Saw the other reviews of these and took a chance. Same bad build quality. The weights at the ends don’t seem solid onto the bar. See photos. I will return these, imagine the weights breaking and falling on your foot, chest or face while you work out. These are a lawsuit waiting to happen.
