Yes, yes, yes!
This is coming from a mom that pumps MAYBE two ounces at a session – if I am lucky. I gave up pumping with my oldest because of this- luckily I could stay home with her so it wasnt a huge deal. I have a month old now and will be returning to work so pummping this time around is crucial to me. Within two to three days of drinking four cups a day I saw a significant difference. I was able to pump well over four ounces which is a huge feat for me. I find the easiest way to ‘get it down’ is to brew a few bags at a time and put them in a pitcher and stick in the fridge. It is much easier to drink when it is cold. The taste is not that horrible, it’s not great – the licorice flavor is mild – but if you’re desperate like me, you’d drink anything to up your supply

Helped in the early days
My baby was born premature and spent a few weeks in the NICU. So I was stuck pumping. I had a hospital issued pump but still my output wasn’t covering what he needed. The hospital had a small store with speciality items, this tea included. I started drinking it 3 cups daily along with oatmeal for breakfast everyday and by nine days after birth I was meeting his needs. I kept pumping, adding in fenugreek and blessed thistle to my day and eventually I was pumping twice his daily need. It tasted horrible in my opinion but it did seem to help so I drank way more than I care to think about. To tell the rest of our story in a very short summary, he couldn’t nurse but singular ml each feeding. It was very difficult for me. When we left the hospital he was strictly bottle fed. After months and months of work, a specialty baby scale, a sns, a short stint if having to supplement due to lack of supply issues, hours and hours of pumping and researching online, we did eventually get to phase out pumping and bottle feeding entirely. We’re still nursing at 18 months and I’m in no rush to wean yet. It can be done. As far as tea for milk supply I think if it’s a minor issue it can certainly help. If your issues go deeper than find a lactation consultant and get the help they offer. I still drink milk tea occasionally if I feel like I need a boost. Colds, stress, travel, heat, anything I swear can affect your supply. I just keep some on hand and chug it so I don’t have to taste it for long.

so thought this might be a nice way to try to boost my supply
I was about 4-5 months postpartum when I experienced my first dip in supply. I am an avid tea drinker, so thought this might be a nice way to try to boost my supply.I never read any of the ingredients, which I should have, because I initially freaked out when I saw that it contained fennel and anise, two things for which I do not care. This box sat unopened in my pantry for quite some time, until one day I ran out of other decaf tea bags, so decided to give it a try. I honestly almost gagged when I smelled it start to steep (smelled very strongly of fennel), but took a sip anyway. I am so glad I did!!!! It tasted nothing like the smell, so if you are in the same position I was, definitely give it a try.The flavor was light and sweet, and I actually enjoyed it.I am giving it 4 stars due to the smell and due to the fact that it never really seemed to have any impact on boosting my supply. Since I do love tea but also wanted to try to limit my caffeine intake, I found this to be a refreshing thing to drink!I will also note that NO ONE would try this tea, because they were freaked out by the name. All of my friends and family (even men) feared they were going to start immediately lactating. Regardless, it made for some comical discussions.

It works!
I highly recommend this tea. I like the taste and it works! I work full time and pump while at work. Naturally, my supply goes down as I am not able to pump as frequently as I would be breastfeeding my son, however, after drinking this tea, I see an increase in what I am able to produce with pumping at work. I also notice that my breasts feel fuller when I drink the tea during the week. A colleague of mine also drinks this and agrees that it works for her as well. Give it a try!

Tastes horrible, but have noticed a slight increase in breast milk supply
I personally abhor the taste of this tea; it tastes like mild black licorice. I’ve added honey and cinnamon to try and mask some of the taste, but can’t seem to. So I’ve had to begrudgingly suck it up and drink this tea with the hopes of it increasing my breast milk supply.I’m not sure if it’s this tea specifically or the fact that I’m consuming more liquids than before that have contributed to a slight increase in my supply. I’ve also been taking calcium magnesium supplements at the suggestion of my lactation consultant.3 stars because an increase is an increase, though I’m not 100% sure it’s because of this tea.

Amazing stuff! after about 3 days of drinking 2 cups a day I noticed a big difference. I was a bit skeptical at first but the only way to find out is to try it. I can not produce much milk due to a breast reduction 9 years ago. before the tea I was making about 7/8 oz a day. and a week on the tea I am up to 10/12 oz a day! Mild black licorice flavor.

This tea is multifunctional
This is great as a throat coat or for toddlers when they are sick. This is an excellent tea for nursing mothers of course and it helps with supply for sure. I am very grateful that it has worked so well for us. I am starting my second year of nursing and I have not been low once. This tea, along with seaweed soup has helped tremendously.
