Some important tips
This blackout solution is crafted from a high-quality car cover material, which is a thin, reflective fabric with a black interior. It comes with instructions and mild Velcro-style tape for easy installation. While it’s not difficult to install, it’s important to be cautious with the tape; the adhesive can sometimes stick to the backing instead of the Velcro. This product is designed to be easily removable. However, a crucial tip is to avoid putting it on a painted surface, as it may pull the paint off. Instead, stick it to the window unit to prevent any damage to a painted surface. It’s important to measure your windows carefully, as some trimming of the material may be necessary to ensure a proper fit. The material is easily cut, and in my experience, it was within 1/4″ of the size they sent.In my case, we tested this in my 16-year-old daughter’s room, which is the front of the house. At night, you can clearly see her outline when she’s in her room. As a teen, privacy is crucial to her. To that end, it works. Some sunlight may still be visible during the day, coming in around the edges without a tight fit. There’s not enough Velcro tape to seal the edge.My daughter’s room, being the farthest from the HVAC and facing the sun, was consistently 4 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. Our blackout solution significantly improved her comfort, lowering the temperature from 78 to 73 degrees on average over several days. This impressive temperature drop, coupled with the privacy it provided at night, made her room a more comfortable space. However, the installation and removal process was found to be tedious, and she stopped using it when the paint came off the window frame.Pros:*It does provide privacy, especially at night*Can drastically lower room temperature up to 5 degrees in my testing*Comes with easy instructions*Can be cut to fit, and is forgiving of an exact fitCons:*Do not put this on a painted surface, as it may pull the paint off when removing and installing*Not enough Velcro tape to go around the entire perimeter, enough for anchoring three places on each side of about 3″ each*The tape is hard to separate from the backing, often leaving the adhesive on the pull-off backing rather than the Velcro*Light will bleed around the edges without a very tight fit

Be careful not to have it very tight! Give it some slack or it’ll peel the sticky tac off the wall after a couple weeks. Outside of that it’s great, keeps the room cool, looks nice, solid item to pickup
