This rectangular meditation cushion can be used horizontally or vertically for support in sitting or kneeling postures. An excellent cushion
An excellent cushion, comfortable yet firm. I love it! Many cushions lack firmness to the point of requiring extra stuffing to comfortably sit zazen, but not this one. Highly recommended.

How did I get along without it?
I resisted buying a meditation pillow because it just seemed frivolous to have a cushion designated solely for meditation. And, until I had a designated spot for meditation, it seemed like it would just be lumped in the corner. Well, I am so glad I got this cushion. It has encouraged me to set up a regular meditation space, and to meditate with consistency. It is well made and sturdy with many ways to use it. I can use it in a kneeling position with two heights and a sitting/cross legged position with two heights. I think the rectangular shape is particularly versatile. If I did need to carry it around for any reason, it has a little handle at the end that also includes a zipper to fill, remove, or change out the buckwheat hulls. I can’t believe I waited so long to get a Hugger Mugger meditation pillow.

Great, comfortable meditation cushion! Heavy though.
This was the first time I ever bought a meditation cushion. I wanted to use it for long term meditations (example, White Tantric Yoga in which meditations can last from 31 to 61 minutes). This cushion works great for me. It takes the body shape and I can sit for a long time without getting tired or hurting. It is also great that I can take out some of the filing to make it smaller, which some people may have to do since it is a bit high. I even use it to sit on the floor and watch TV sometimes.The only thing I don’t like about this meditation cushion: Although it does have a handle on the side for easy carrying, this cushion is HEAVY. I took it with me only once. I placed it inside a tote bag and carried it to White Tantric Yoga. I regretted the decision as it is just too heavy to carry it around. Other than that it is great. So, even though it is too heavy for me to take to Yoga and meditation classes, I still love it because of how comfortable it is.

This is my first meditation pillow and I am very happy with my purchase. The product is very well constructed – I had a chance to check out some other zafu at a local Buddhist shop and those just did not compare. They were more expensive than the Hugger Mugger, too. The pillow itself is very sturdy but comfortable to sit on. The color (plum) is indeed a deep purple color and the picture is true to the actual product.

Great pillow
This is a great pillow and sits you up high enough to take off any strain from your back when you meditate. It’s firm but shapes to your body perfectly so sitting on it for long periods is comfortable. It seems well constructed, but if it falls apart in the next few weeks I’ll let you know! The pillow IS the “plum” color and not the tan as seen in the photo.It was too full for me so I emptied out some of the husks which was very easy to do. This ability to adjust it is a good feature.Just a warning for people ordering from Canada, the price more than doubled after adding in all the shipping costs and conversion rate, but I couldn’t find anything else like it so decided to swallow the extra cost. So far it has been worth the cost.

This is a great pillow – it holds form and adapts to my body really well. There is a lot of support and although it subtly changes while sitting for long periods of time, it is very simple and easy to readjust on the fly without sacrificing your ‘Zen’. Highly recommended!
